Newport is approximately 3½ hours from New York City. Follow Route 95 North to Rhode Island exit 3A. Exit 3A connects to route 138 East. Follow route 138 East over the Jamestown Bridge, and then over the Newport Bridge. Take the 1st exit at the end of the Newport Bridge (Scenic Newport). At the bottom of the exit ramp turn right onto Farewell Street. Go straight through the 1st light; at the second light bear left and continue along. Pass a "Do Not Enter" street (ahead and to your left).
Continue straight (Thames St.) until you come to a light where a Banana Republic store is facing you. Turn left, pass the movie theatres. At the light, go straight up the hill (this is Touro St.) At top of hill is another light. (The Viking Hotel is on your right.) Drive past the hotel to corner; you will see the Family Law Center on your left. Turn left onto Catherine St. At stop sign, turn left onto Greenough Place. Go around the bend. We're the white house with brownish shutters on the right, #15.
We are approximately 25 miles/35 minutes from the airport. Take I-95 south to exit 9 (route 4). Follow route 4 south; it will narrow and merge with route 1. Continue approximately ½ mile to exit for route 138 East (Newport Bridge). Follow route 138 East over the Jamestown Bridge, and then over the Newport Bridge. Follow above (from the south) directions to the Inn.
Newport is a 90 minute drive from metropolitan Boston (75 miles). Follow route 24 south to route 114 south. Follow route 114 south straight towards downtown Newport (Rt. 114 becomes Broadway at the Newport town line). Just past a Dunkin Donuts and a Cumberland Farms store (on your left), you will see Ayrault Street. Turn left, go up the hill to the stop sign, go through the stop sign, and take your next right ... this is Greenough Place. We are the sixth house on the left, #15.
